Beyond that, he boasts a successful career as an exceptional songwriter, diligent record producer, and seasoned actor. As of 2022, his net worth has skyrocketed to an astonishing $230 million, underscoring his colossal stature. So, it's only natural to be curious about Eminem's place of residence. There is not much known about the interior of this home, but we know that the 7,464 square feet of space have four bedrooms and six bathrooms. Eminem currently lives in this Clinton Township mansion with his daughters, Hailie, Alaina, and Whitney. Before selling it, the Rochester Hills house served as his occasional getaway.
In addition, Eminem had custom builds worth millions of dollars throughout the house, including prime visual, audio, and lighting systems. Eminem later listed this house in August 2017 for less than $2 million, which was sold that following month. He lost quite an amount on this one, but in Eminem's defense, he bought it when real estate values were at their peak. However, property values in this area never fully recovered after the 2008 US market crash. Despite the US entertainment industry being largely centered in Los Angeles, Eminem chose his Midwestern roots over the proximity to the US music industry.

His big break was in 1997 when he attended the Rap Olympics MC Battle in Los Angeles, where he caught the attention of Dr. Dre, who's also a music producer.
The third floor was planned as a billiard room but was used as an attic by the Gamble family. The 2,200squarefoot home challenges the domestic interior through materiality, color, and form. Haus Gables is one of only a handful of residences in the country made of cross-laminated timber (CLT), an exceptionally strong wood material produced by gluing together layers of lumber that alternate in direction. The gabled dwelling becomes the haunted house of New England storytelling. Can a house style or architectural detail get a reputation, like a person can get a reputation from behaviors? Gable dormers are actually specialized windows, or windows in gables.
Cross Gable
As we've journeyed through the intricacies of the gable, we've gained a deeper appreciation for its multifaceted significance. Harmonizing the gable design with other exterior elements, such as windows, doors, and architectural embellishments, is essential for achieving a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing facade. The gable should be integrated seamlessly with these elements, enhancing the overall visual impact of the house and contributing to a unified architectural expression. The architectural style of the house exerts a profound influence on the design of the gable.
Integration with Exterior Elements:
Also known as pitched or peaked roof, gable roofs are some of the most popular roofs in the US. Then architects had some fun with the gable roof, piecing together multiple gable roofs. The resultant cross-gable roof, with multiple planes, created multiple gable walls. Later on, architects and designers began to decorate these gables, making architectural statements about a building's function. Eventually, gables themselves were used as decorations — where the gable became more important than the roof. The newly constructed homes shown here use gables less as a function of the roof and more as the architectural design of the home's facade.

We delve into the ins and outs of gable roofs below, answering your questions and providing gorgeous real-project examples of how a gable roof has added finesse to different homes. While the asymmetrical design might look strange to folks in some areas of the country, these gabled roofs are examples of some of the earliest homes built by settlers in the Northeast. Like the gable roof, the hip roof is popular in certain parts of the country thanks to some unique characteristics. Homes with a cross-gable roof often feature a more complex layout because of the particular shape of the roof.

In essence, the diverse array of gable types reflects the rich tapestry of architectural innovation and design ingenuity, showcasing the enduring relevance and timeless appeal of this iconic architectural element. In essence, the gable represents a harmonious fusion of form and function, embodying the timeless principles of architectural design while fulfilling essential structural requirements. Its enduring presence in the realm of home construction and renovation underscores its significance as a defining element of residential architecture. With their sloped sides and pitch, this style of roof has become one of the most-wanted features in home design and achievable for self builders and extenders alike.
She is currently renovating a mid-century home, together with her partner, on a DIY basis, and has recently fitted her own kitchen. This consists of two roofing planes that rise to meet a ridge in the middle. They’re ideal for shedding precipitation and affordable to construct.

Paths made with large water-worn stones from the nearby Arroyo Seco are reminiscent of running brooks crossing the lawns. The overall landscape design and constructed garden elements are integrated with the architectural proportion and detailing. The triple front door and transom feature a Japanese black pine motif in plated (more than one layer) leaded art glass, highlighting the Asian influence that runs throughout the house.
Gable roofs, however, have higher pitches with more tendency for the high winds to lift off their shingles. This is why it is of utmost importance to ensure your gable roofing material is of highest quality and the construction is undertaken by professional roofers. After all, with inadequate bracing, the gable roof can easily fail in the event of high winds or hurricanes.
Both gable and hip roof designs cope well in rainy and snowy conditions. This is because of the high strength of the roof trusses, which can adequately support the weight of the snow. That said, the pitch of a gable roof can shed snow easier than hip. But if you live in a high-wind region with the possibility of hurricanes, a hip roof will be a better option.

While a simple peaked roof with a triangular gable is what most people visualize when thinking of a gable roof, there are some variations that can be adapted to many home styles. Almost any type of roofing material can be used on a gable roof, such as asphalt shingles, cedar shakes, metal or tiles made of terra cotta, clay, or concrete. The gable's design must prioritize structural integrity, ensuring that it can withstand environmental forces and support the weight of the roof effectively. When contemplating the design of a gable for a residential structure, several key considerations come into play, each bearing significant implications for both the visual appeal and structural integrity of the house. From architectural aesthetics to practical functionality, the design of the gable encompasses a myriad of factors that warrant careful attention and thoughtful deliberation.
For more on hip roofs, take a look at our guide to hipped roof extensions. The joists and rafters are almost always made of dimensional lumber. The framing is sheathed with plywood, with underlayment material protecting it from leakage and the sun’s heat. The finished layer, commonly known as shingles, goes over the top of the underlayment. When determining the lifespan of a roof, there are many factors to take into account, such as the quality of the installation, materials, weather conditions, and so on.
This style of roof is designed so water and snow can run down the slopes and into gutters so is mostly seen in countries like the UK which suffer from wet or poor weather. Many colonial homes feature smaller gabled sections over their front porches or steps. While this does add a classic charm to the design, it also serves a practical purpose.
A saltbox is an asymmetrical roof design offering much more space than a standard gabled roof. Shed gable roofs consist of three dormers, slanted in one direction. These are also referred to as half gables, which are easy to build since the rafters are all identical. Just as the name suggests, a front-gabled roof is installed at the front of a home. The front door is normally placed right under the gable as a common feature. If you have a tight budget, a gable roof is a more affordable option.
A building with a gable roof may be front-gabled, side-gabled, or cross-gabled. Like the illustration shown here, cross-gabled buildings have gables both on the front and on the side, created by a valley roof. Because a hip roof has more roof decking that needs to be covered with roofing material, it costs more than a gable roof. "You have more surface area and an increased level of complexity," says Conley. "And both types cover the same amount of square footage." So, if you plan to build a new house, you may want to consult an architect about the best roof design for the house and your budget.
A pediment is a specific type of classical gable, less functionally dependent on the roof and more structurally useful atop a series of columns or as decoration above a door or window. The opposite or inverted form of a gable roof is a V-roof or butterfly roof. The lifespan of a gable roof depends on the type of material used to cover it.

One thing you should know about DCL ships before we dive into menus — Disney introduced the concept of “rotational dining” on cruises. Following the Coronavirus crisis, for summer 2021 (June-September), the ship was scheduled to operate cruises-to-nowhere (mostly 2-3-night plus limited 4-night roundtrips) from homeports London-Tilbury, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Southampton. These unique for DCL itineraries (called "Sea Staycations") were open for booking by UK residents-only and without any call ports. In lounges and clubs, there are numerous family activities during the day - dance parties, bingo, pirate quests, shuffleboard and video games tournaments, all kinds of contests, pool games, family karaoke, dance lessons, talent shows.
